About Isabel Vera-Fernandez
Hello and WELCOME!
These are exciting times for me, so what better way to get things started than to introduce myself?!
My name is Isabel Vera-Fernandez and I am a First-Generation Latina Attorney. I was born in New Jersey to a Colombian mother and a Cuban father. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to do something that involved talking to people all the time and helping in whatever capacity. I knew this because, whenever I was home alone I would pretend I was feeding someone medicine with my melted ice cream, or I was talking to the mirror pretending to be talking to an audience about whatever came to my mind. Yeah, I was that child. I also really liked to read. I mean, really! I vividly remember winning awards for the number of hours I would read in a week or month. I really appreciated the program at one of the schools that I attended growing up because I feel as if they really encouraged reading and being creative with your mind. In all sincerity, that may have been one of the turning points in my life that really propelled me into enjoying the creative and entrepreneurial side of people and life, generally.
All throughout my growing years, I really felt that the Legal and or Criminal Justice fields was where I was going to thrive. In 2020 retrospect, I still feel as if the Legal field was a great fit for me. But, now, I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about what other areas of life I could’ve equally thrived in. Hence, this page.
So, here is to embarking on new and different things that don’t feel quite natural yet, but still not letting that fear get in the way of trying and giving it your all!
